Positions

Whether you are new to a career in law enforcement or looking for opportunity for advancement, the Concord Police Department is the place for you. Positions include 4/10 and 3/12 work shifts. Officers can hold positions in Patrol, Detective Units, Traffic, Community Impact Unit, K9 Officer, SWAT, Special Enforcement Team and more!

  • Police Officer (Trainee) 
    As a trainee, you would be assigned to attend 6 month Police Academy, which includes the academic and physical training required to be a Police Officer. In order to be eligible for Police Officer Trainee you must have a minimum of 30 college units and have past the POST Pellet B written exam with a score of 50 or higher.
  • Police Officer (Academy Graduate)
    An academy graduate must possess a certificate of completion from a P.O.S.T. certified basic training academy. 
  • Police Officer (Lateral)
    For lateral entry consideration, an individual must have completed a probationary period in the Peace Officer classification and possess a P.O.S.T Police Officer Basic Certificate.
